Licking County Information Technology Services (ITS) supports the technology needs of all Licking County agencies to enable them to better serve the public. Our internal objective is to bring innovative solutions to county government and maximize the value to our taxpayers. We have accomplished this through a number of key objectives:

- Reduce economies of scale through standardization and shared infrastructure
- Increase organizational productivity through information sharing and process automation
- Make county government available 24 X 7 at www.lcounty.com.
- Minimize the cost to the General Fund by seeking outside funding sources and fund reimbursement.
- Apply business value metrics like Return on Investment (ROI), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Break-even Analysis to technology projects and purchase decisions
- Implementation of new technologies to improve and extend service delivery and better position the organization to support the population growth taking place in Licking County.
- Reduce our reliance on outside vendors by providing technology services at a lower cost in house
- Ensure our product portfolio accurately reflects our dynamically changing environment
- Implementation of a strategic plan that absorbs costs over a span of budget years.
- Protect our investment in technology by adhering to the highest security and availability standards and leverage it through convergence, scalability, and service-level agreements
|

Our success at meeting these criteria is best demonstrated by analyzing the growth of technology in government and business over the last ten years. During this period, Licking County Information Technology Services grew by more than 100% in size from a staff of 5 to 11. However, the important number is that Licking County Information Technology Services cost the General Fund $38,000.00 less in 2007 than was spent in 1998 for technology services. Currently, technology costs comprise about 2.5% of the General Fund Budget and have extended to include telecommunications services.
